The school serves children from age 2-11 through the addition of a teacher-led nursery as well as extended school provision. Having been successfully supported by St Christopher’s Trust since Autumn 2020, St Peter’s will officially become part of STCMAT on 1st April 2021.

Lympstone C of E Primary School are wanting to recruit a Teaching Assistant with specialist knowledge to work 1 to 1 with a Year 2 boy who displays ASD and demand avoidant traits. Support is required within all areas of learning and emotional regulation. There is scope and flexibility for an individual curriculum to be put in place. Working knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children with similar needs is essential. A calm, fair and measured approach is required at all times. The creation of resources such as visual timetables and behaviour management strategies will also be important.
The opportunity for 1 to 1 offsite activities is available therefore a driving licence is preferable.
Lympstone C of E Primary is a very inclusive school built on the nurture and understanding of individual children. We can offer you a supportive whole staff team and an experienced Year 2 team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants who will support you in this role.
This is a temporary post to assist with the provision of the special educational needs of the child and is subject to their continued attendance at the school and/or the result of any review of their special needs.
